Essay

Double check exemplar essay on moodle for correct referencing of images in text and format of pages.

Careful with over use of rhetorical questions.

Make sure presentation and formatting is consistent.

Excellent examples to back up your statements and prove your points. Good P.E.E structure.

Lots of arguments from both sides of the point of view.

Some improvement of school like vocab/sentence structure required.

Have a clearer plan next time, so you stay closer to the word count. This will also help you stay interesting and concise rather than seeming to ramble.

It would also be good to have a clearer link to the art and design element of your essay topics in future.

Book

Good start with mind mapping potential research.

Excellent presentation.

Lots of research sources inc. an excellent artist focused way of analyzing art styles.

Good attempt to visually analyse and discover the motivation and thought process of the artists’ work.

Almost half the first book focuses on digital methods of art and artists. A larger range of other art styles mixed in with this earlier would be more interesting to your reader.

2 Planning, Problem Solving, Skills & Design

U3 1.3 – Apply knowledge and understanding of a range of critical perspectives to support own Graphic Design practice.

U3 2.2 – Apply an understanding of a range of contextual parameters to support own Graphic Design practice.

U4 1.1 – Critically compare a range of materials and processes.

U4 1.2 – Apply understanding of materials and processes.

U4 1.3 – Apply understanding of technical skills.

Clear link to essay and research book through artwork.

Nice attempt to paint digitally but there are improvements that could be made in technique and perspective although your work on shading in the sea and rocks comes off quite well.

3 Evaluation & Reflection

U2 1.1 – Critically compare a range of research tools, methods and skills.

U2 2.1 – Critically compare a range of primary and secondary research sources.

U2 3.1 – Apply research tools to record, interpret and develop ideas.

U2 3.2 – Evaluate the effectiveness of research tools to develop ideas.

U4 1.4 – Evaluate the use of materials, processes and technical skills.

Detailed evaluation on your essay. You do not need to do certain sections if they do not apply to a particular project. The type section regards typography and experimenting with it during a project. It doesn’t apply to font you types your work in.

Some repetition in your artwork essay but overall accurate. I agree with your points though, the work would’ve been better had you planned your time and spent longer on it.

An outstanding range of references however you are still not getting the presentation of them correct. They do not need sub headings of websites/videos/letters figures etc… If you have used fig. 1. Etc. then they can go in figure order, if not then just list all of them in alphabetical order regardless of type of reference.
